Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 29, 2026

Pull Panda is a desktop application that runs on your own computer. This Privacy Policy describes how Pull Panda ("we", "us", or "our") handles information in connection with the app and our website.

Local-First by Design

Pull Panda is a desktop app. Your pull request data, code, and comments stay on your machine. We do not host your repository data on our servers, and we do not run a cloud backend that stores or processes your code.

When the app needs to fetch pull request data, it talks directly to GitHub from your computer using the GitHub credentials you authorize. The data lives on your device.

Information We Collect

Website. When you visit pullpanda.io, we may collect basic, aggregated analytics such as pages visited, referrer, and approximate location. This is used to understand how visitors find and use the site.

Downloads. When you click a download button, the request passes through our server before it forwards you to the file on GitHub. We record the date, the platform you chose, the release version, the page that referred you, and an approximate location. No account or identifier is attached to a download.

Desktop app. On launch, the app sends a short message so we can count how many people use it. That message contains a randomly generated installation ID, the app version, your operating system and its version, and optionally your locale and timezone. The installation ID is created on your device the first time the app runs. It is not derived from your hardware, your email, or your GitHub account, and it is not linked to any of them. The app may also send crash diagnostics to help us fix bugs. None of this includes your code, pull request contents, or GitHub credentials. You can turn telemetry off in the app's settings, and when it is off the app sends nothing.

Approximate location. For both downloads and app usage, we look up an approximate country, region, and city from the IP address of the request. We use a local lookup database, and we do not store the IP address itself - it is used for the lookup and to limit abuse, then discarded.

Support. If you contact us by email, we keep the message and your email address so we can reply.

GitHub Authorization

When you connect Pull Panda to GitHub, the app stores an access token locally on your device so it can fetch pull request data on your behalf. The token is not transmitted to us. You can revoke access at any time from your GitHub settings.

What We Don't Do

  • We do not store your code or pull request data on our servers.
  • We do not sell your personal information.
  • We do not share your data with advertisers.

Your Rights

You can uninstall the app and revoke GitHub access at any time. If you've contacted us by email and want us to delete your correspondence, just let us know.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent change.
