Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 30, 2026
This privacy policy explains how the Website to Markdown Chrome extension ("the extension") handles information.
What the Extension Does
When you click the extension on a web page, it sends the page's URL and HTML content to a backend conversion service hosted on Cloudflare Workers (website-to-markdown-serverless.artgaard.workers.dev). The service converts the content to Markdown and returns it to your browser, where you can copy or download it.
What We Collect
- Page content for conversion. The HTML and URL of the page you choose to convert is sent to our conversion service. It is processed to generate the Markdown response and is not stored.
- No accounts. The extension does not require sign-in. We do not collect your name, email, browsing history, or any identifying information.
- No tracking. The extension does not contain analytics, tracking pixels, or third-party advertising code.
Permissions
The extension uses the following Chrome permissions:
- tabs. Used to read the URL and content of the currently active tab when you ask the extension to convert it. The extension does not read other tabs or act on pages without your explicit click.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties. The page content you convert is processed by the conversion service and discarded.
Sensitive Pages
Because the extension sends the current page's content to the conversion service when you click it, avoid running it on pages with sensitive information you don't want transmitted off your machine (for example, internal dashboards, banking, or private documents).
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the extension evolves. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent change.
